Facebook just announced that WhatsApp would now support up to 8 users in a visual conversation, up from just 4 users previously. This update is much-needed, especially given the current state of isolation and social withdrawal.

Use WhatsApp to make free video calls.
- Launch the WhatsApp programme.
- By touching on your contact's name, you can start a chat.
- At the top right of the screen, tap the camera icon.
Invite people to the video call.
- As per usual, dial a contact to initiate a voice or video call.
- Once the conversation has begun, tap Add participants in the top right corner.
